Big Brother & The Holding Company

You can’t talk about the 60’s without mentioning Janis Joplin, and you can’t talk about Joplin without a nod to the Holding Company, her original Grammy Hall of Fame band. Today, with original members in tow and Brooklyn singer Eileen Humphreys belting out Janis’ vocals, the Summer of Love is still alive, and heating up Winterfest at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead on March 17.

Breaking out with their Billboard-topping album Cheap Thrills - prominently featured on almost every ‘Top Albums of All Time’ list, and recently celebrating its 50th anniversary with a reissue by Columbia Records - Big Brother & The Holding Company rocketed into fame with smash singles like “Another Piece of My Heart”, “Me and Bobby Magee”, “Ball and Chain” and more.  Today, original members Peter Albin and Dave Getz combine forces with some of the Bay Area’s finest to bring the Haight-Ashbury music scene back to life.

Big Brother & The Holding Company hits the Suffolk Theater for one night only on March 16th. Slide up to the bar or grab a table for dinner when the doors open at 6, with the music kicking off at 7:30. Tickets range from $49 to $65, with a $10 minimum food and beverage per person. Tickets are available online, on the phone, or at the box office.
